Sharps Disposal
All used and unused syringes in rigid containers can be dropped off during regular City Hall Hours:
Monday -Thursday, 8:30am-4:00pm and Friday 8:30am-12:30pm.
The kiosk is located outside the Health Department on the ground floor of City Hall.
Medication Drop Box - Located at Melrose Police Department- 54 West Foster Street
Dispose of Old and Unused Medication. Clean out your medicine cabinet. Year round you can drop off expired/unused prescriptions or over the counter medication to our drop box, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
*Liquids not accepted*
Medical Inhalers Disposal - Drop Box location, Walgreens, 185 Center St., Malden
**They should NOT be thrown out with the regular trash.**
Proper Disposal: Inhalers should be placed in drop boxes located at certain pharmacies where they will be safely and properly recycled.
The closest designated pharmacy is: Walgreens, 185 Center St., Malden (near Stop & Shop) and the drop box is located inside the Walgreens next to the pharmacy counter.
